About Exscientia

Exscientia was an AI drug discovery company founded in 2012 as a University of Dundee spinout by Andrew Hopkins. The company was the first to advance AI-designed small molecules into human clinical trials.

Exscientia operated a precision drug discovery platform used in partnerships with Sanofi, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Bayer. The company went public on Nasdaq in 2021 before being acquired by Recursion Pharmaceuticals in October 2024 in an all-stock deal valuing Exscientia at approximately $650 million.

Exscientia raised a total of $429 million prior to its IPO. Following the merger, Chris Gibson (Recursion CEO) leads the combined company, which trades as Recursion (NASDAQ: RXRX).
