www.oliveai.com/Olive AI was a healthcare automation company founded in 2012 in Columbus, Ohio by Sean Lane (as CrossChx, later rebranded). The platform used RPA and AI to automate administrative tasks across claims, prior authorizations, and revenue cycle management for hospitals.
At its peak Olive was valued at $4 billion and employed around 1,300 people, serving clients including CommonSpirit Health and Memorial Hermann. However, performance issues, missed implementations, and overhyped capabilities led to significant client churn.
Olive shut down on October 31, 2023, selling its clearinghouse and patient access businesses to Waystar and Humata Health. It had raised approximately $902 million across multiple rounds.
