Pydantic is a data validation and AI tooling company founded in 2023 in London by Samuel Colvin, the creator of the Pydantic Python library. The open-source library is downloaded more than 300 million times per month and underpins data validation in FastAPI, LangChain, OpenAI SDKs, and most modern Python frameworks.

The company commercializes Pydantic Logfire for observability and Pydantic AI for building LLM agents. Customers include developer-heavy startups and AI teams.

Pydantic raised a $17 million Series A led by Sequoia Capital in 2024, with participation from Partech, Irregular Expressions, and Logan Bartlett. Total funding is approximately $21.5 million.
