Sonix, Inc. operates a cloud-based automated transcription platform that converts audio and video recordings into text, translations, subtitles, and captions. The company was founded in 2017 by Jamie Sutherland, Stephen Hopkins, and David Dat Nguyen, and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

The platform transcribes speech in more than 50 languages and adds translation, subtitle and caption generation, and AI-assisted tools such as automated summaries and sentiment analysis. Sonix sells primarily to journalists, researchers, podcasters, legal teams, and enterprise media groups, and counts organizations including Google, Adobe, Stanford University, The New York Times, and ABC News among its users.
