The company builds financial operations software aimed at mid-market and enterprise organizations seeking to consolidate purchasing, payment, and expense workflows into a single platform.

Airbase's core product suite includes accounts payable automation, corporate cards, employee expense management, purchase order management, and bill payment. The platform is designed to give finance teams visibility and control over company spending before transactions occur, rather than reconciling them after the fact. It targets companies typically in the 100–5,000 employee range and integrates with major ERP and accounting systems including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and QuickBooks.

The company raised a $60 million Series C round in 2022, bringing its total disclosed funding to approximately $150 million from investors including Menlo Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, and Craft Ventures. In 2023, Airbase was acquired by Paylocity, a publicly traded HR and payroll software provider, expanding Paylocity's footprint into financial operations and spend management.
