Chargebee

Chargebee is a subscription billing and revenue operations platform founded in 2011 by Krish Subramanian, Rajaraman Santhanam, Thiyagarajan T, and Saravanan KP. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, with additional offices in Chennai, India, where it was originally founded.

Chargebee's platform handles subscription lifecycle management, recurring billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, and pricing experimentation. It supports billing models including flat-rate, usage-based, tiered, and hybrid structures. The company serves SaaS, e-commerce, and other subscription-based businesses, with customers including Freshworks, Okta, and Calendly. Its product suite includes Chargebee Billing, Chargebee RevRec for revenue recognition, and Chargebee Retention, the last of which was acquired through the purchase of Brightback in 2020.

Chargebee has raised approximately $655 million in total funding. Its Series G round in January 2022 raised $250 million at a $3.5 billion valuation, led by Tiger Global Management. The company previously raised $125 million in a Series F round in April 2021. As of the early 2020s, Chargebee employed over 1,000 people globally.
