Convex is a serverless backend platform founded in 2021 in San Francisco by Jamie Turner, James Cowling, and Sujay Jayakar. The platform provides a reactive database, serverless functions, file storage, and scheduled jobs purpose-built for full-stack app developers.

Convex serves thousands of developers and teams building web and mobile applications, particularly in the React and Next.js ecosystems. The project went open source in 2024.

The company has raised approximately $26 million across seed and Series A rounds. Jamie Turner, a former Senior Engineering Director at Dropbox, serves as CEO.
