Dagster Labs

Dagster Labs (originally Elementl) was founded in 2018 by Nick Schrock, previously creator of GraphQL at Facebook. The company develops Dagster, an open-source data orchestrator that treats data assets as first-class entities and supports software-defined assets, partitioning, and observability for data pipelines. The commercial product, Dagster+, adds managed deployments, role-based access, and operational tooling.

The platform is used in production at engineering teams replacing Airflow and similar schedulers, with notable users including Discord, Bayer, and Goldman Sachs. Dagster raised a $33M Series B in 2022 led by Sequoia Capital.

Dagster Labs is headquartered in San Francisco with a fully distributed team across the United States and Europe.
