Deel is a global HR, payroll, and compliance platform founded in 2019 in San Francisco by Alex Bouaziz and Shuo Wang. The product handles contractor payments, employer of record, local payroll, and immigration in more than 150 countries.

Deel serves more than 35,000 customers including Shopify, Klarna, and Nike, with rapid growth among distributed teams and global hirers.

Deel has raised approximately $679 million, including a secondary-led $300 million round in 2024 at a $12 billion valuation, led by General Catalyst. Alex Bouaziz serves as CEO.
