Dify develops an open-source platform for building and deploying AI applications, including agentic workflows and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems. Founder and CEO Luyu Zhang started the company in March 2023. The platform combines a visual workflow builder with prompt management, knowledge retrieval, tool integrations, debugging and API deployment, letting teams connect large language models from providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic to their own data and business systems. It is available as the self-hosted open-source Community Edition, as the hosted Dify Cloud service, and as Dify Enterprise for private deployment. In March 2026 Dify raised a $30 million Series Pre-A round at a $180 million valuation, led by HSG with participation from GL Ventures, Alt-Alpha Capital, 5Y Capital, Mizuho Leaguer Investment and NYX Ventures. Its GitHub repository passed 100,000 stars in June 2025, and in March 2026 the company reported more than 2,000 teams and 280 enterprises building on its commercial versions.
