ElevenLabs is an AI audio technology company headquartered in New York, founded in 2022 by Mati Staniszewski and Piotr Dąbkowski, both former Google and Palantir engineers. The company develops software for generating realistic synthetic speech, voice cloning, and multilingual audio content from text.

Its core products include a text-to-speech API, a voice cloning tool that can replicate a speaker's voice from short audio samples, a dubbing product for translating and re-voicing video content, and a text-to-sound-effects generator. ElevenLabs serves publishers, game developers, audiobook producers, and media companies, and its API is used by developers to embed voice generation into third-party applications.

ElevenLabs raised a $19M Series A in 2023 led by Andreessen Horowitz, followed by an $80M Series B in January 2024 at a reported $1.1 billion valuation, and a $180M Series C in January 2025. The company reached unicorn status with its Series B round and has grown to several hundred employees across its New York headquarters and international offices.
