Loom operates a video messaging platform that enables users to record, share, and view screen recordings and webcam videos for workplace communication. The company was founded in 2015 by Joe Thomas, Shahed Khan, and Vinay Hiremath and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

The platform allows users to capture their screen, voice, and face simultaneously to create video messages that can be shared via links. Loom serves over 21 million users across companies including HubSpot, Atlassian, and Netflix, with use cases spanning sales demonstrations, product tutorials, bug reports, and team updates. The service processes over 8 million videos monthly.

Loom raised approximately $203 million across multiple funding rounds, including a $130 million Series C in 2021 that valued the company at $1.53 billion. In October 2023, Atlassian announced its acquisition of Loom for approximately $975 million. The company employed around 350 people at the time of acquisition.
