FreshBooks is a Toronto-based cloud accounting software company founded in 2003 by Mike McDerment. The platform provides invoicing, expense management, time tracking, project profitability, and basic bookkeeping geared toward freelancers, self-employed professionals, and service-based small businesses.

FreshBooks serves more than 30 million users across 160+ countries and integrates with Stripe, PayPal, G Suite, and other small business tools. It competes with Intuit QuickBooks, Xero, and Wave in the SMB accounting category.

FreshBooks raised more than $131 million in venture funding, including a $130.75 million Series A in 2021 at a reported valuation above $1 billion. Mara Reiff was appointed CEO in 2023; Mike McDerment serves as Executive Chair.
