Metabase is an open-source business intelligence and embedded analytics company founded in 2015 by Sameer Al-Sakran, originally as an internal tool at Expa. The platform offers dashboards, SQL tools, and embedded analytics for any SQL-compatible database.

Metabase has more than 50,000 organizations using the open-source or cloud product, including many startups and SMBs that want an easy-to-deploy BI solution alternative to Looker, Mode, and Tableau.

The company has raised approximately $42.5 million, including a $30 million Series B led by Battery Ventures in 2022. Sameer Al-Sakran serves as CEO.
