Udio

Udio is an AI music generation platform founded in 2023 by former Google DeepMind researchers, including David Ding and Charlie Harding. It produces original full-length songs with vocals and instrumentation from text prompts.

The New York-based startup launched its public beta in April 2024 and rapidly gained traction among creators making original tracks, remixes, and demos. Udio competes with Suno in the generative audio category.

Udio raised $10 million in seed funding from Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Will.i.am, Common, and UnitedMasters. The company is facing copyright litigation from major record labels including UMG, Sony Music, and Warner.
