   ARR nears $200M; employee equity buy-back values Camunda above $1B

   Camunda said annual recurring revenue was nearing $200 million and was expected to pass that mark before the end of 2026, with net retention above 120% and more than 700 customer organisations including nine of the ten largest US banks. The company added that a recent optional employee equity buy-back programme valued Camunda at over $1 billion, and that no additional funding had been raised since 2021.

2. May 20, 2026Launch

   Camunda announces ProcessOS, an agentic operating system

   Announced at CamundaCon in front of 1,200 enterprise leaders and technologists from 25 countries, ProcessOS is an AI intelligence layer over Camunda's orchestration platform that discovers existing processes from operational data, re-engineers legacy processes for AI, and generates agentic processes, integrations, decisions and forms. It entered closed beta on the announcement date.

   Camunda 8.7 makes agentic orchestration generally available

   Camunda released agentic process orchestration into general availability, using BPMN ad-hoc sub-processes to model, deploy and govern AI agents inside end-to-end processes. The same release added Camunda Copilot for generating BPMN from natural language, Camunda RPA, intelligent document processing with configurable LLMs, and an SAP integration.

   Camunda crosses $100M in annual recurring revenue

   Camunda announced it had passed $100 million in ARR, roughly ten years after beginning its US expansion. Investor Sam Brooks of Highland Europe noted the milestone was reached with no cash burn along the way.

   Camunda Platform 8.0 shipped on the Zeebe event-streaming workflow engine (renumbered from 1.4 to 8.0) in both SaaS and self-managed editions, adding a browser-based Web Modeler with commenting and versioning, DMN decision automation, out-of-the-box connectors in developer preview, and new REST APIs for Operate and Tasklist.

   Insight Partners led an 82 million euro round, roughly $100 million, with participation from existing investor Highland Europe. Insight managing director Matt Gatto joined the Camunda board. The company cited its best-ever year in 2020 and a partner programme of more than 100 partners.

   Highland Europe invested 25 million euros in Camunda's Series A, the first outside capital the company took after a decade of profitable, bootstrapped operation.
