Comet is a machine learning platform founded in 2017 in New York by Gideon Mendels and Nimrod Hoofien. The company offers experiment tracking, model evaluation, production monitoring, and LLM observability tools through its Comet ML and Opik products.

Comet serves more than 50,000 data science practitioners and enterprises including Uber, Etsy, and Zappos. The open-source Opik project for LLM evaluation has gained significant traction in the AI developer community.

Comet has raised approximately $69.5 million, including a $50 million Series B led by OpenView Venture Partners in 2021, with participation from Scale Venture Partners, Trilogy Equity Partners, and Two Sigma Ventures.
