Hugging Face is an AI platform and community founded in 2016 by Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond, and Thomas Wolf. The company runs the Hub, the world's largest repository of open machine learning models, datasets, and demos (Spaces), and maintains open-source libraries including Transformers, Datasets, and Accelerate.

Hugging Face serves more than 5 million developers and researchers and has partnerships with AWS, Google, Microsoft, Intel, and NVIDIA. The platform hosts over a million model checkpoints.

The company has raised approximately $395 million, including a $235 million Series D in 2023 at a $4.5 billion valuation, led by Salesforce with participation from Google, Amazon, NVIDIA, AMD, IBM, Intel, and Qualcomm.
