OpenRouter

OpenRouter is a unified API gateway for large language models founded in 2023 by Alex Atallah, the co-founder and former CTO of OpenSea. The service provides a single endpoint to access hundreds of LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral, and other providers.

OpenRouter serves developers and companies building AI applications, offering unified billing, usage analytics, and automatic failover. The platform reached approximately $50 million in annualized revenue by early 2026.

The company raised a combined $40 million seed and Series A in June 2025, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Figma, and Fred Ehrsam.
