Homebase, operated by Pioneer Works, Inc., develops all-in-one team management software for small businesses that run on hourly workers. The company was founded in 2014 by John Waldmann and Rushi Patel and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

The platform combines employee scheduling, time clocks, payroll, team messaging, hiring, and HR compliance tools into a single app, sold on a freemium model with paid tiers. Homebase targets local operators such as restaurants, retailers, and service shops; the company says more than 150,000 small businesses and over 3.5 million workers used the product in 2025.

Homebase has raised roughly $189 million across five rounds. Khosla Ventures led a $6 million Series A in 2016, and Bain Capital Ventures led a $20 million Series B in 2018. GGV Capital led a $71 million Series C in July 2021, and L Catterton and Emerson Collective led a $60 million Series D in April 2024. The company employs an estimated 201 to 500 people.
